WONDERS BEYOND THE FOREST
This two-week summer intensive provides conservatory-style training in acting, dance, and voice. Our aim is to help each student discover their unique voice and foster confidence through leadership development and teamwork. At the end of the program, there will be a performance where the students will demonstrate what they have learned, with equal stage time for all participants.
The key components of the training provided in the summer intensive program include:
1. Acting: Techniques and skills to improve performance, character development, and emotional expression.
2. Dance: Introduction to various dance styles and choreography to enhance movement and physical expression.
3. Voice: Vocal training focusing on technique, projection, and the development of a personal style.
4. Leadership Skills: Activities designed to foster leadership qualities and confidence among students.
5. Teamwork: Collaborative exercises that encourage working together and building a supportive environment.
6. Final Performance: An opportunity for students to showcase their skills by performing an original piece accompanied by popular Broadway songs and dance. Equal stage time is enjoyed by all students.
“Wonders Beyond the Forest” is an original fairytale told with hit Broadway songs from musicals such as *Matilda*, *Anything Goes*, *Wicked*, and *Be More Chill*.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
Please inform Sonia Performing Arts of any known schedule conflicts before the first day of camp. Unexcused absences or late arrivals may lead to a change in assigned roles or materials.
We understand that unexpected situations can arise. If new conflicts come up, we kindly ask that families notify our front desk as soon as possible so our instructors can adjust plans accordingly.
ATTIRE:
Comfortable clothing that allows movement and closed-toed shoes with rubber soles. Jazz shoes are recommended.
HEALTH & SAFETY
All students are expected to follow safety guidelines at all times during camp. Sonia Performing Arts reserves the right to deny entry or dismiss any participant who does not comply with our health and safety policies.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Classes are refundable — minus credit card and processing fees — up to one week before the start of class.
Please allow up to two weeks for refunds to be fully processed.
WAITLIST & HOLD INFORMATION
Sonia Performing Arts limits enrollment in its programs to maintain a safe, high-quality, and inclusive environment. These limits help ensure a positive student-to-teacher ratio and allow us to hold space for new families, gender inclusivity, and underserved communities.
If a program is full, don’t worry—it’s free to join the waitlist. Plans often change, especially during the summer, and spots may open up. To join, simply click the “Waitlist” button on the class listing. If a space becomes available, all waitlisted participants will be notified by email. Registration is then offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
